Beaver or Sloth?

Beaver or Sloth?

I can be a busy little beaver.
Chiseling away at logs.
Piling them up to make a house.

Yet, I am asleep.
Asleep in the arranging.
Asleep in the piling.
Asleep in the putting together
Of concepts and ideas.

Or…

I can be a happy sloth.
Hanging from my tree.
Smile on my face.
Asleep to the noise of the world.

Yet, I am awake.
I’m in complete touch with
The gentleness of my being.
Restful.
Relaxed.
Present.
Awake.

With no ideas.
No concepts.
Nothing to argue about,
Anymore.

DISCLAIMER: This is not intended to be an evaluation of the relative awakeness of beavers and sloths. Both are generally more awake than me.
