Lead Me

Lead Me

Say what you want about me.
God gets the last word.
And my God is all loving, all merciful,
Which is why fear turns to awe
Turns to wonder
Turns to grace.

I affirm my trust
Again and again.
I leave everything in God’s capable hands.
I rest my weary head
Upon a pillow of grace
As the challenges of the day
Melt like ice in the hot sun.
God is sufficient
In all things.

Therefore,
Let me not run through this day so fast
I forget who I am.
Let me not run through this day so fast
I forget who I belong to.

Lead me always beside the still waters.
Let me lie upon a bed of green
As I turn in wonder,
Turn in grace,
And place it all in your loving arms.
Amen.
